Bed-Stuy

Initial conversations about the project often circled back to capturing the distinct feeling of enjoying a meal or drink indoors during a thunderstorm.

It became our goal for the home to evoke a sense of calm, yet remain playful.

The scope of this renovation included a full ground level refresh, including all new kitchen cabinetry and appliances, reconfiguring the pantry and powder room, a new stair, and upgraded primary and secondary bathrooms. Inspired by the client's love for travel and dining in the city, the material palette emphasizes natural materials, soft lighting, and warm tones reminiscent of their favorite restaurants. Bright ceramic accents pay homage to the client's favorite travel destinations in the Mediterranean.

A curved tile backsplash reflects the softened corners carried through the garden floor.

Natural materials and warm hues are paired together to create a calm, inviting kitchen.

A new archway creates a threshold between the living and kitchen spaces, while concealing the pantry and powder room.

A feature window pulls natural light deep into the primary bathroom.
